Description

We’re all about creating places and spaces that improve day-to-day life for everyone. Our passion is all about creating a world that works for you. We have a rich heritage that we’re proud of, but we’re equally as proud of our vision for the future of the UK. If you can add your own creativity, ambition and ideas, you’re just what we’re looking for. Our purpose is to build a better future for our clients and society as a whole. Here, you’ll be building more than just your career.

The team

The North West valuation team operates from our offices in Manchester and Liverpool. It is a team of eleven, which includes four directors and two associates.

The team provides valuation advice to a diverse range of clients for loan security and financial accounting purposes. Valuations are also provided to assist clients negotiating transactions and for assessing scheme viability as part of the planning application process. Within the team we have specialists in Compulsory Purchase and Compensation, Expert Witness and Development Viability.

The team covers the main property sectors including alternative sectors, particularly student housing, PRS and Further Education. Clients include lenders, property companies, investment funds as well as public sector organisations including Homes England, and several Councils across the north west.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for qualified surveyors who can undertake certain valuation instructions, with minimal supervision, from appointment to delivery as well as assisting the Directors with more complex instructions. You will be inspecting and measuring properties, undertaking research and reporting to clients.

In addition you will have the opportunity to meet with clients to develop existing relationships and to participate in marketing events and seminars.

The role will also involve you working with more junior graduate and undergraduate team members, who will be assisting you in delivering projects and who will require your guidance and supervision.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

- MRICS, with up to two years post qualification experience, not necessarily in valuation;
- IT literate including competence in using Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Competent in using Argus and/or Kel Investor and Developer software packages.
- Good communication skills; particularly report writing.
- Personable and presentable;
- Ambitious combined with a desire to learn and progress within the team.
- Commercial awareness.
